TASTING NOTES
A pale pink with a perfumed bouquet of elegant summer fruits and floral nose. The palate is concentrated and elegant with fresh red berries and hints of cherry balanced by refreshing crisp acidity, with a smooth and round finish. This superb provence rosé is made from a blend of old vines on clay and gravel soils, using techniques to ensure the highest quality by picking and destemming the grapes and using optical sorting technology to make sure each individual grape is the best. The juice is vinified in stainless steel to preserve the fresh fruits with bâtonnage’ (stirring) of the yeast lees to make a fresh and round wine.

REGION
The appellation of Côtes de Provence covers a wide swathe of land from Aix east to Cannes. Although much of the production is of dry rosé wine made from Cinsault, Carignan, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, it does also cover red and white wines. Provence has a warm Mediterranean climate with adequate rainfall and the cold Mistral wind provides cooling influence but the best sites are usually sheltered.

PRODUCER
Located in the heart of Côtes de Provence, 40 kilometers north of the coast above Saint Tropez (up in the rocky limestone hillsides of the valley of Esclans away from the sandy flatlands). Today, Château D’Esclans consists of 140 hectares of vineyards (producing estate vineyard and bottled rosés). The total property has 427 hectares. This estate is in the heart of the Esclans valley and has had many owners over the years, but what would change its destiny was the arrival of Sacha Lichine in 2006.
